As moms, we often use our kid(s) as an excuse to be stagnant in a job we hate. Although I hated my job, it provided a stable income for me to provide for my son.
WE CAN STILL TAKE RISKS!!!
In the past
- I dreaded going to work
- I would get the Sunday blues
- I called into work, just to be anywhere but work
- My quality of work production decreased
- I complained about work, even when I wasn’t there.
- My dreadful job consumed most of my life.
- Until I took a risk
As moms we have to be more cautious when taking a risk, however, this can be to our advantage. It allows us to be calculated risk-takers. So Instead of quitting my job right away like I would’ve have done in my early 20’s. I worked on career skills, networked with prior bosses/coworkers, and continued to save.
After I felt like I had adequate resources to cushion the blow, then I took the leap. Moms, do not let motherhood stop you from chasing your dreams. It may take us more time, but we can still take calculated risks.
